Nissan Connect Wont Download Phonebook

Jun 08, 2017  I have a 2013 Nissan Altima SV with Navigation. The unit has bluetooth phone support built into Nissan Connect. Ever since the Kitkat update it will no longer download the phonebook correctly. I have 148 contacts in my S4, and when it tries syncing with the car it goes up to 1000 (which I believe the car unit's capacity) and stops. Feb 03, 2015  Auffenberg Nissan Sales Consultant, Mark Chapman demonstrates how to sync your phone with your Nissan and explains the features included with the NissanConnect. Aug 30, 2011  The way the bluetooth and the iphone communicate is both have a bluetooth mac address a 'finger print' that being said, if the nissan bluetooth is not checking for that the mac address than that is a security flaw, but basically you are jumping in between the transfer and transferring the phone book. Apr 09, 2010  Just bought a 2010 Nissan Altima with the Premium sound package (includes Bluetooth and USB/iPod). My Pre (Sprint) will sync to the Bluetooth, make and receive calls, but the phonebook won't download from the phone to the car.

Couldn't get Bluetooth to connect automatically? Try these tips to get your device and vehicle connected. Open the Nissan Connect app and sign in using one of the following methods. Bluetooth® is a new wireless technology that enables connectivity between multiple electronic devices by utilizing a 2.4 GHz radio spectrum that has a range of approximately 30 feet (9 meters). Bluetooth® will allow you to use your cell phone hands-free in the vehicle. For more information about Bluetooth® wireless technology, please visit www.bluetooth.org.

Availability of specific features is dependent upon the phone's Bluetooth® support. Despite the fact that Bluetooth® is a global standard, many different versions are implemented in today's mobile devices. Every version offered may not support the profiles necessary to successfully communicate with the Nissan Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System in your Nissan vehicle; therefore, only certain devices have been approved by Nissan. These devices have exceeded the minimum standards for compatibility as of the date of testing. This compatibility list is not a warranty for phone performance or functionality. System performance and feature availability can vary based on phone software version, wireless carrier, coverage, and many other factors outside of Nissan's control. Nissan does not guarantee the availability of any specific feature and makes no guarantees or warranties relating to the performance of these features. Device and feature compatibility status are subject to change without notice. Please refer to your phone owner's manual for details. Cell phone not included. The Bluetooth word mark and logos are owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc., and any use of such marks by Nissan is under license.

Sync Won't Download Phonebook

After purchasing a 2010 Altima at a sticker price of over $30,000 it is truly disappointing to learn that my Verizon cell phone is 'not compatible' In fact almost no current Verizon cell phones from LG or others are on the list. That means that either there is limited functionality or none at all. Verizon is the largest cell service provider in the US and LG is either the most common brand or in the top two for Verizon.
In my case, I am lucky, I can pair my LG VX8350 and use the system to make a receive calls. However, I cannot download my phonebook nor individual data to the vehicle's system. I can work around this issue by obtaining a compatible cell phone and downloading the phonebook. I cannot work around the issue (acccording to Nissan support) by connecting a PC via bluetooth and using Bitpim software to download the phonebook. Also, Nissan informed me that their service department probably doesn't have a workaround either.
Nissan and their supplier (Bose?) have not responded to my requests for resolution of this issue. Therefore, I am writing this post to inform potential purchasers of my experience. Perhaps they may want to forgo Nissans bluetooth functionality in favor of aftermarket alternatives.
One that has worked flawlessly is form Parrot. Parrot provides bluetooth for many other major car manufacturers (Honda, Audi, BMW, etc.). My experience is that they continually offer software upgrades to keep up with cel phone releases. In the three years I owned the system I had three different cell phone models and ALL worked flawlessly.
